While rummaging through my NOS stuff for the 54 and in that big box of neat stuff I found out I had a set of Guide 50 backup lights so .. I decided to fit them into the project.
A bit of measuring and mocking up and I settled on a position and
then attacked the drilling. After a bit of drilling and filing to fit the units are ready to be mounted. We also
added a old style combination stoplight / license lamp between the uprights for a bit of help with visibility.
Really acts as a vintage third eye. Still need to work on the LED inserts for the taillights soonish. Gotta fit
them to work with the Hollywood Accessories extensions. Shouldn't be too hard.
The addition of an NOS CalCustom 5-bar tube grille is cool. Biut in my case I have eliminated the turn signal housongs and wraparounds. I was palnning to put a pair of vintage 4" fog lights in these locations . and then I would have to come up with some turn signals. That's all still up in the air.
I found some nice wide Packard lower trim to brighten up the rocker panel area. It is about 4" wide and will run from the lower front fender all the way to the rear wheel wells. I will probably use some SS 55 Ford stone guards on the skirts to terminate it.
